Digital Graphics Assignment 3 - Prawn Shocker

This is the image i started off with. This was the image presented in the assignment brief from the client so i thought this would be a great image to start off with.

Then i wanted to make it quirky and something different. So i found an image of a cartoon Prawn and added it to the face of the photo i started off with. 

I then thought adding some tattoo's to the face and neck of the image would be good. It would separate my work from everyone else and would be something unique.  

And then to finish off the album cover i added "Prawn Shocker" in text with a clear font to the image.

After finishing my album cover i began to work on the logo for the band. So i selected another image featured in the assignment brief which shows underwater in the sea.

I wanted to make the logo simple and effective. So i simply added an image of a prawn and used the same text from the album cover but made it bigger and bolder to stand out.

When i was sent the assignment brief for Prawn Shocker the first thing i did was research. I googled the band to find out information about them, and also found them on YouTube. I listened to their music and it was unlike anything i have ever heard before. It was very unique and obscure, but i felt like something like this would make great work. As i could experiment with different designs and be a little quirky on what i create as i felt like the music was different then anything else i have ever heard before. So with the album cover i decided to do what felt right when listening to the music. So i decided to edit the photo that was sent with the assignment brief from the client. I added tattoo's and a cartoon prawn to the image that was sent, since the band is called "Prawn Shocker" i decided to go with a cartoon prawn so it appears friendly, but then also adding tattoo's to go for a mature look. Then with the logo i decided to go for something very simple but very effective, so it stands out.
